On Reiki and Yoga

Reiki Energy Balancing is a holistic healing modality that is taught and transmitted through a lineage of healers and practitioners. During the last century, the lineage weaves back to 1930s Japan and its modern day founder, Mikao Usui who first began teaching Reiki healing in its current form. The system allows the healer to act as a vehicle for energy (like prana or chi) that integrates the subtle human energy field with the body to address issues of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health and well-being.

Older traditions also inform Reiki practice; particularly, Reiki has been seen to correlate with the Bon Tradition of Tibet as well as yoga, meditation, compassion, and breathing practices developed through the ages. Reiki can be transmitted in person or from a distance.

Yoga asana and meditation practices support the healing of mind and body from within one’s own self. Similar to Reiki, Yoga practice facilitates the movement of prana  integrating mind and body. With practice we can learn to listen to our own unique way, and become our own healers.

Reiki and Yoga Private Sessions

Reiki and Yoga complement each other. As a healing art and a practice, both modalities work with the human energy system, balancing nadis and etheric bodies. Helping to clear the residue of our experiences, these practices allow the subtle energy to move and facilitate healing. Reiki and Yoga both also support the movement of prana to injuries and illness.

Reiki sessions and Yoga privates are held at LoveSource Therapeutics in Northstar Plaza, which includes an Infrared Sauna that can be combined with a Reiki or Yoga session.

Yoga Classes and Schedule

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a Hatha Yoga form originating in Mysore, India and initially taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. The pattern for form sets the ground for creative and subtle exploration of being in the body, while improving strength and flexibility, balanced energy flow, and a more calm and clear mind. Alignment of asana–posture–is learned alongside the more subtle internal form using pranayama, bandas, drishti–breathing, internal points of attention, gaze. Ashtanga Yoga can be practiced intensely as is the traditional method, while the form can also be adapted for therapeutic purpose. The structure of vinyasa–movement–combined with breath complements the underlying principle of practice–discipline and dispassion, effort and surrender. This recipe for practice with a creative and compassionate approach makes it accessible to anyone.
